(From someone looking into the stencils) Can you...?
Since this forum is new, I want to post questions that I have been asked over time... until others start posting.
Can you paint with colors, other than just white dots? Our last ceiling done by someone else, the Milky Way looked like a stripe of white paint.
I mostly use Aqua paint, for the majority of my murals, but I do have some blue paint that I have with me that I will sometimes add into the murals, though much less. The reason is that the Aqua paint is closest to the real stars, for most paint colors. It is also the paint that that is the most realistic and glows the longest and brightest. Green paint glows brighter, but it is ugly and doesn't look anything like stars should look. Other colors would make the mural look too cartoonish and they don't glow very long. So... that's why I use mainly Aqua. Blue would be the next closest paint that both glows bright and long.
The Milky Way is one of my customers favorite parts of the mural... and it doesn't't look like a "white stripe." How sad! 🙂
Now, in the DIY stencil kits, I include the same paint that I use to paint my murals. In fact, when I am about to leave on a painting trip, I grab a jar or two of paint from the paint inventory for our stencils.
The Milky Way isn't possible to use a stencil to paint, so for now, I have offered stencil kit customers some written instructions, and I have started making videos of me painting the Milky Way... and hope to finish that up by the end of the year.
